The film was produced by Brosnan’s own "Irish Dream Time" film company, with an investment of only $12.5 million, and was completely filmed in Mexico. It is a complete B-level film.
The director/screenwriter of this film is Richard Shepard, who grew up in New York . He was admitted to the Film Department of New York University , but failed to graduate due to his inferiority in science and engineering. He is still waiting for this Honours. Degree .Prior to this, Richard had produced, written and directed five independent films, as well as written TV and movie scripts for many film companies. The most watched works he has directed are 1996's "Mercy" (Mercy) and the 1999 thriller "Oxygen" (Oxygen). Richard’s original intention when creating this film was a DV work costing only $250,000. Unexpectedly, when his agent submitted the script to Pierce Brosnan’s company as a sample, Brosnan took a fancy to it and decided Investment, production and starring in person.
When it comes to the biggest beneficiary of the film, it is undoubtedly Pierce Brosnan. After "After Sunset", he once again played the injustice opposite to 007, but this down-and-out killer was played vividly by him, and received a lot of praise from the outside world. He was also nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Comedy/Music category for this role, which is another step towards Oscar.
