The Pelican Brief evaluation action

"The Pelican Brief" is a relatively bloodless thriller, most of the violence is effectively conveyed off the screen. The heroine Roberts vividly interprets Debbie's initial confusion, followed by wit and firm determination. The supporting actors are equally meticulous, and there are good performances everywhere. Director Alan Jay Pakula put Grisham's book on the screen and once again returned to the theme of high-level conspiracy. To be fair, Pakura’s movies are very beautiful. It has all the visual characteristics of movies popular at major festivals. The breathtaking panoramic photography technique shows the scenery of New Orleans and the District of Columbia to the fullest. Photographer Stephen Goldblatt uses dark and rosy colors to focus on the claustrophobic power corridors inside Washington, which vividly shows the sense of imminent threat. Unfortunately, the film gives the audience a sense of deja vu and lacks novelty. Undoubtedly, the film may eventually break some holiday box office records, but unfortunately, this is more a reflection of the attitude of the audience, not the movie of this quality itself .
