The owner is a 78-year-old Jewish widow Lauterman, deaf and dizzy. When Tony was entangled with her, he discovered that the shop had empty shells, and there was not much goods. However, taking care of Lauterman could be paid by Jewish organizations, so he concealed his wife’s help in the shop, but claimed to the outside world I am the store manager. Soon, the Germans began to take the Jews into custody and transport them to concentration camps. Tony wanted to hide Lauterman, but he was experiencing great suffering in his heart. Outside the shop, the Jews set off under the monument. Inside the shop, Tony faced an unknown old woman with wine to soothe his sorrows. He wanted to stop Lauterman from going out to close the shop, but he knocked her down by mistake. Lauterman died. Tony was so desperate that he ended his life with a rope  .
