White Wall is an economics teacher at the University of Connecticut. The death of his wife brought him great pain, and Wall could only get himself free through endless work. The lonely and dull life bores Wall. He yearns for passion and tries his best to find the meaning of life. Because he wanted to attend an academic conference, Wall came to his apartment in New York. He hasn't been here for a long time since his wife's death, but to his surprise, the room is full of life, and the apartment even has flowers in full bloom. A young couple lived here. After communication, the truth became clear: it turned out that the couple was deceived by an acquaintance who "rented" a house to them. In front of the real owner of the apartment, the young couple-Tarek from Syria and Isai from Senegal became homeless. However, the kind Wall didn't let them sleep on the street, and he took in the poor couple with tolerance. The initial misunderstanding did not hinder the development of friendship. White and drummer Tarek overcame the huge cultural differences and became good friends through a drum with very national characteristics. In the brisk drumbeat, White found the long-lost happiness, and was deeply infected by Tarek's talent and passion. Later, he followed Tarek to a gathering of ethnic minority friends. During the gathering, the foreign culture with drums as the carrier resonated with White. More importantly, the drums shook off what he once was very heavy. soul. Happiness is always short. One day, Tarek was arrested for jumping over the subway turnstile on his way back from Central Park with White, despite the fact that he had already bought a ticket. This incident caused a big trouble, because the police found that Tarek had no legal status, and Tarek was sent to the Illegal Immigration Detention Center in Queens. Out of sympathy for the couple and a strong sense of responsibility, Wall decided to help Tarek, and Tarek's mother came to New York from Michigan because she hadn't heard from her son for a long time. They have a common goal, which is to let Tarek regain his freedom. The two people encouraged each other in this process, and the two hearts gradually felt each other's warmth. At both ends of the glass wall of the prison room, White and Tarek could only communicate via telephone. But the friendship will not be interrupted because of this. They, this optimistic pair of friends, have beaten a familiar and cheerful rhythm in their respective bodies   .

American dream and life dream. Some movies are dramas, and some movies are life. The plot is not ups and downs, but it is beautiful, because we are looking at life.

The Visitor quotes

  • Zainab: Why did you invite him?

Tarek Khalil: We're staying in his apartment. What could I do?

Zainab: And I'll be stuck with him while you play your drum.

Tarek Khalil: You know you're very sexy when you're mad at me.

    [leans in to kiss her]

Prof. Walter Vale: [interrupts] Hello! If you don't mind, I think I will come.

    Tarek Khalil: Cool.

Prof. Walter Vale: Let me get my coat.

    [Zainab frustrates]

  • Prof. Walter Vale: I've been teaching the same course for 20 years, and it doesn't mean anything to me. None of it does. I pretend. I pretend that I'm busy, that I'm working, that I'm writing. I'm not doing anything.
