The rich and dark medieval style, the original sin theme of "born sinful" runs through the whole film, a family's point of view, highlighting the social function of religion at that time; the outdoor natural light is gloomy and compelling, and the indoor candlelight has a high contrast between light and dark, as if walking into "Shadow of Time"; the soundtrack is excellent, like thousands of bugs scratching and biting, causing layers of goosebumps, but it stops abruptly but no ghosts are seen, and the psychological level is even more terrifying.

Sometimes the most innocent, helpless, and purest people are oppressed for various reasons and go to the extreme abyss. The effect of the ps soundtrack is really good, the whole film has been depressing and dark until the end. 3.5

William: If my conscience sees it fit.
Governor: Then shall you be banished out of this plantation's liberties!
William: I would be glad of it.
Governor: Then take your leave, and trouble us no further.
William: How sadly hath The Lord testified against you.
William: [turning to leave] Katherine...
