● The film received investment from 20th Century Fox in the United States. This is the first time an American film distribution company has invested in a Korean film.
● The film was shot in Dalian, Yanbian, Harbin, Qiqihar and other places in China.
● The film started filming as early as the end of 2009, but was affected by the unusual weather, and the release date was postponed from the summer of 2010 to the end of the year.
● The blasting scene in the film was shot in Busan City, mobilizing a total of 150 actors, 13 cameras, 50 motor vehicles and 20 buses. The filming was strongly supported by the Busan Imaging Commission, and traffic control was implemented within a 3-kilometer radius of the city center.
● Ha Jung Woo's self-destructing image for the film is so different from the handsome men of the past that no one recognized him when he was filming at the Namdaemun in Seoul.
● Hong-jin Na expressed his hope that this film will be made into a big-budget movie with a strong masculinity like the movie "The Godfather".
● The Korean man played by Ha Jung Woo in the film has a real prototype, and his wife still lives in Yanji, China.
● Starring Kim Yun Seok and Ha Jung Woo practiced Yanbian dialect and Mahjong for 3 months.
● Before the film started, Hong-jin Na did a one-month backpacking trip in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture for a field trip.
● In order to better portray the characters, Ha Jung Woo did not cut his hair, grow his beard, or lose weight during the 300-day shooting period. Another star, Kim Yun Seok, did the opposite. In order to meet the needs of the role, he quickly gained 8kg in a short period of time.
