"Undine" has a traditional and classic narrative. The camera does not shake and there are few close-ups of characters. Most of the time, it keeps a distance from the audience. So the audience knows they're watching a movie with fictional characters, but director Christian Petzold tells the story so quietly, even knowing it's just a movie, I will still be moved by the characters and be saddened by love. The appearance of the film is a very modern love story, but the scenes have a textbook-like precise design, and every picture is pushed and every dialogue is intriguing.
