The only film that has received all Oscar nominations, the originator of the tear-off film adapted from a stage play (such as [Killing]). Hypocrisy and scars under the mask of glitz and tranquility. All four performers are impeccable, but only Elizabeth Taylor perfectly interprets the insight into the emptiness and the accompanying cynical madness. Nichols has profound skills and has edited [Graduate]. The creativity of the shotgun parasol is amazing. (8.0/10)

Reminds me of "The Killing," which also uses two couples to create great drama in small scenes. In contrast, the drama of "Killing" is much more restrained, because the language violence of this film is as sharp as a knife, the characters' emotions are ups and downs, and the relationship between enemies and friends is loose and relaxed. What is slightly lacking is the supporting actress, who has nothing outstanding in front of the three outstanding characters except for silly words.

George: Once a month, Martha. I've gotten used to it. Once a month, and we get Misunderstood Martha, the goodhearted girl underneath the barnacles. The little miss that the touch of kindness will bring to bloom again. And I believed it more times than I'd like to admit because I don't like to think I'm that much of a sucker. But I don't believe you, I just don't believe you! There is no moment, there is NO moment any more when we could come together.
