The story takes place in an Estonian village during the war between Abkhazia and Georgia. The subject matter of the film is very niche, involving the grievances of Georgia, Russia and Abkhazia, as well as the unstable relationship between Estonians, Chechens, Russians and Georgians. The scene of Chechen mercenaries and Georgian soldiers recuperating in the old Estonian home is reminiscent of "The Cuckoo in Spring" in the background of the Soviet-Finnish war.
