Leviathan--Go to the Sea of Wrath of Suicide

Leviathan (The Ridiculous Apocalypse) (2014) is probably the best Russian film since Morphine (2008). If the interpretation of the film is limited to the superficial system, the crushing of individuals by religion, and the Russian-style forced demolition, it will be a result of the director's painstaking efforts: the suppression and strangulation of women in a male-dominated society is the real theme.

Leviathan--A Metaphor for the Sea Monster

The British political philosopher Hobbes' Leviathan is divided into four parts. The first part, "On Humanity," first announced the author's thorough materialist view of nature and general philosophical views, claiming that the universe is composed of particles of matter, objects have independent objective existence, matter exists forever, and all matter is in a state of motion . The...

Leviathan: the Tragedy of Hitting the Stone with Pebble

The icy-to-the-bone movie and the plot that can almost be sat in the right seat make people feel a little more chilled.

A family who seemed to be living a peaceful life has been brought down by the forcible expropriation of their house. Within the system, individual power against the state machine is a dead end, and even if the Leviathan is only a skeleton on the beach, the nets woven by the visible and invisible black hands will still lead to no escape. The lawyer, the lover, and the...

A tragedy caused by a corrupt soil emperor under a powerful government forcibly demolishing a nail household

Russia, as a country with a long history of autocratic tradition and baptism by communism as China, so when "Leviathan" appeared a forced demolition plot against nail households led by corrupt characters like local emperors with a strong government as the background. , how empathic and insensitive we are to aesthetic fatigue.
The most hilarious and dark humorous episode is when the citizens of a "fighting nation" drink vodka, eat barbecue and shoot targets in the suburbs. (As expected...

Have you ever dreamed of that sea monster?

"Many years later, when Russian director Andrei Sagintsev came to the small town on the coast of the Barents Sea where "Leviathan" was filmed again, he would definitely recall that in the early summer of Cannes in 2014, the reporters, The question that has been entangled with him: why does this film, which satirizes social reality, get funding from the government?"

The "Leviathan" written by British political scientist Hobbes is the embodiment of a powerful authoritarian state. Avoids...

A huge, majestic, inhuman being has died, only the skeleton remains, but the ghost still remains, the rebels - husband, wife, lover (friend), son all end tragically, and even the oppressor is terrified, especially ironic What's more, the new church and the church that houses the faith are built on looting and bones. Glass’s music and setting are despairingly matched (both Youku and iQiyi are available...

    Evaluation action

With five stars, it is admirable to think that the director can complete such an ambitious film. (A comment by Peter Bradshaw of " The Guardian " )
I was surprised at the fact that such a film attacking the corruption of the Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin government was produced with the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture. ( Commented by Leslie Felperin, film critic of The Hollywood Reporter )
    Through the tragedy of the...
