      Movies are dark adult metaphors

After reading the original book yesterday, I searched for the 1985 version of the movie "Return to Oz" and watched it again. The style of the original book and the movie are very different. The original book is bright and relaxed; the movie is adult metaphor and dark. I think the movie is more in line with the world view of adults, and it is more thought-provoking.

From a movie standpoint, the story might go something like this: A ten-year-old girl on a farm in Kansas orphaned as a...

This movie is based on comics, not old movies. There is this large-format color comic at home. The characters are almost copied from the comics. Except for Dorothy, the comics are close to adults....

The scream of the headless witch is really scary. Is that pumpkin head named jake Tim Burton's favorite? Did Wheel Man go to madmax4 later? PS: This is the first movie to use Disney's rainbow over the Blue Castle logo , and the third family (Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion) had more scenes, but they were cut off due to budget...

The film was nominated for Best Special Effects at the 58th Academy Awards. Why do I feel like a horror movie? Halloween "New Year's card", right? The film is superficial, procrastinated, and devoid of content. The child left a lot of "why" after reading...

Ozma: I forgive Mombi. Dorothy has punished her by removing her magical powers, and a witch with no magic is a miserable creature indeed.

Mombi: [in a cage, bitterly] And that's a fact.
