On Christmas Day, December 25, 1977, at 4 o'clock in the morning, Chaplin passed away peacefully in Switzerland. People express their admiration for him in various ways.
The poet Aragon praised: "These films used to be like the light of our century, the whole world, and the history of our time. I don't know if there was ever a man with eyes like his that made us see the ugliest at the same time. The soul and the most tender gaze.” The
Soviet film master Eisenstein said: “In Modern Times, Chaplin helped everyone see a new era of our time.”

Using comedy to dissolve the sadness brought about by capitalism, human beings are knives and I am a portrayal of the fate of small people. Chaplin's use of actions to express a mechanized life is a masterpiece. At the same time, he did not forget to use love to convey goodwill and hope. On one side is a sharp criticism of society, and on the other side is love idealism, which is basically the double-edged form of Chaplin's films.
