All shots are only for rendering inhumanity and fear.
The reason for the so-called abuse is that the screenwriter randomly composes a factor related to religion, and fools the audience with low IQ but likes self-righteous audience. This is not the key.
The key is the inhumanity that the director desperately wants to express, and his attempt to bring the feelings of sadism and masochism to the audience through the film.
In my opinion, the director probably likes torture and masochism, or a movie commissioned by SM fans. Long-term, multi-shot close-up shooting of the distorted facial expressions of the abused person and the pain of physical trauma are pleasant to them.
From the performance point of view, it is at the same level as the "guinea pig series", but from the content point of view, it is meaningless.
