If I hadn't watched "Jumanji 2: Battle for the Peak" on the day of its premiere, I might have been brainwashed by various movie bloggers. Compared with the previous film released in 2017, the first half of this film is indeed a little lackluster-Professor Yong Shi, who has a strong body and a stronger mind, and whose nirvana is "deep stare", has a mouth but an old man with a mouth. Yes, it's hard to say if they're cute or not... After everyone swapped bodies, Spencer was still Professor Yong Shi, and the best five-member group returned, and the pace of the movie was much faster.

I read a few movie reviews with one or two stars, and the main points of criticism are: ①Professor Yong Shi's first half is too noisy; ②The female snitch Ming has a bad demeanor; ③The movie is not funny. Everyone's laughing point is different, I think it's funny and it's normal for others to think it's not funny. Although I'm very curious, have anyone who thinks this is "an industrial assembly line film infected with the current Hollywood slapstick problem" has seen the first one... If not, then many of the second film will naturally not understand; if you watch it Well, don't you think the first movie wasn't a commercial popcorn movie?

I mainly want to justify the film in terms of Spencer's grandfather and Ming. Eddie is a grumpy old man who lives with his daughter because of hip surgery. He worked his whole life and was forced to retire because of a friend's "betrayal". Like him, my grandfather and grandfather are stubborn, irritable, and sometimes cute little old men - mostly complaining, and scolding to show love to their family, but like a child, because they never The toys that have been seen are beaming with joy, and they rarely show their feelings. They have spent most of their lives struggling to feed their families, and now everyone is not worried about their livelihoods. They feel that they are old, their importance has declined, and they have less and less control. Some people can keep up with the times and adjust their mentality, and some people can't, like Eddie, like my grandfather and grandpa, become out of tune and unlikable. We can't change them, they are too old and their minds are as hard as stones; but we can try to understand, instead of criticizing a character for not being likable because he has the flaws that many older people have.

Then, many bloggers criticized Ming's bad posture, and even used the word "outrageous". In my opinion, outrageous is a very serious word. I think this public comment is a personal attack on the actress. This blogger is usually considered a "feminist", and I thought she would be more inclusive and kinder. I left a message for her, and the reply was that everyone's aesthetics were different, and she thought it was ugly to have a hunched back and a narrow neck. If I criticize an actress for being "outrageously fat" and "fat women are ugly on the big screen", I'm going to get scolded. I don't understand what's the difference in changing to "hunchback"? I think Ming acted very well and grasped the characteristics of the grandfather and grandson very accurately. I also love Awkwafina.

In the end, I do think Jumanji 2 doesn't deserve five stars, somewhere between four and a half. But how can a movie with a complete plot, realistic special effects, and (I think) full of laughter be reduced to less than one star? Film creation has always been in full bloom. Some films have depth, and some films are family-friendly. Why can't it be?
