When I was a child, I read the legend of the sword in the stone. Mage Merlin, King Arthur, Sword in the Stone, Knight of the Round Table. It's all such a mysterious and fascinating story.

Finally, in 2017, Director Gai filmed King Arthur. Guy Ritchie's shot, that movie must be a must-see! Not to mention there is Jude Law in it! I, Jude, have always been beautiful (Love the brilliant and flamboyant Percy he played in "Wilde's Lover"~). He made a deal with the water demon, handed down the person he loved the most, and Brother Shi seized the throne. How well explained the grace and fear! Arthur's modeling is also subverting the tradition. The cynicism and humor are completely modernist characters that criticize the costumes of costume dramas. The most feared and the most difficult thing to overcome is one's own demons. The two scenes of Arthur facing the past in the rain and mud and conquering himself are really shocking and touching. The male and female counterparts are also elegant and beautiful. The costumes in various scenes are extremely gorgeous, and the just right soundtrack perfectly sets off the plot. What a beautiful show!

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword quotes

  • The Mage: You know what we have to do. In order for him to control Excalibur, he needs to go to the Darklands.

    Bedivere: That's not happening.

    Bedivere: ...Welcome to the Darklands...

The Mage: He needs to take the sword to the tower.

    Bedivere: Give me another way.

The Mage: There is no other way. And he has to go alone.

Bedivere: He can't survive the Darklands alone!

The Mage: You don't want all of him to survive, that's the point. You have to break his old self completely, wear him down. You want him to think big? Give him something big to think about.

Bedivere: You're playing with fire, mage. And I'm not killing the king before he's even become one!

  • The Mage: Pick it up. Pick it up with both hands.

King Arthur: YOU pick it up.
