The Hours

Chatting with a friend about the horrors of a discordant family, especially the dehumanization of all family members. I recommend the movie "THE HOURS" and Eugene O'Neill's "Long Day's Journey into Night". How much influence O'Neal had on Cao Yu can be seen by looking at this script.

Here are a few of my opinions about the movie "THE HOURS", recorded as follows: A

great movie, many people think that they can't understand it because they don't have that kind of experience in life or can't imagine that kind of experience.

The director basically doesn't explain the plot, mainly because he can't make time, so objectively, this movie is only made for understanding people.

Those who have experienced that kind of despair will understand it, and those who have not experienced it will be useless to say it.

The film basically voluntarily forgoes the beginning and end of the story, leaving room to juxtapose climactic sequences that might have been used in several films into one film. This way a film gets a rare INTENSITY.

Haven't read VIRGINIA WOOLF's novel "THE YEARS" and wonder where the idea for this structure came from.
