Whenever the Spring Festival, relatives and best friends will always add one to my blessings. And as a single dog for ten thousand years, I have already cultivated the endurance of "Ren Er's east, west, north and south winds, I will stand still", so I often make everyone helpless.
Then, a girlfriend said, do you know why you have been single? Because you lack the courage to fall in love, I recommend you to watch a movie, I believe it will inspire you. And the movie recommended by my girlfriend is "BJ's Single Diary".
I usually watch movies that focus on literature and art, science fiction, suspense, and dark humor. I don’t watch this kind of purely romantic movies—I don’t want to seek abuse.
However, since my best friend is so hard-working, and I do have time, and more importantly, this is a comedy, just to entertain me during the Spring Festival, so I finished watching all three in one go.
"BJ's Diary of a Single" is based on Helen Fielding's novel of the same name and tells the love story of Bridget Jones (BJ for short), a single woman living in London.
In fact, this film is very Mary Sue. At the beginning of the first part, the heroine BJ had just passed her 32nd birthday. She was bloated, smoked, drank heavily, worked as an assistant editor-in-chief in a publishing house, and her work was sloppy. Every Christmas, I will be introduced to a nice man by my mother, and of course the blind date fails.
The future in front of BJ is getting fatter and lonelier, and eventually being eaten by dogs; or changing himself and trying to find true love. Of course, BJ chose the latter, and she started journaling and making New Year's resolutions: losing weight, quitting smoking, quitting drinking, improving her dressing taste, and staying away from bad friends (including: pessimistic misanthropes, love-phobics, sexual perverts, etc.).
Then, a miracle happened. BJ's in a see-through outfit arouses the interest of playboy boss Daniel (played by Hugh Grant, you can imagine how handsome he is). Daniel is a complete love liar (with girlfriends all over five continents, all kinds of types), BJ is also very clear that this man is a rotten peach, and she also reminds herself that she must stay away from this scumbag.
But at the moment of beauty, BJ is still in the fall. She and Daniel talked about their self-righteous love, and began to imagine that Daniel really fell in love with her. Of course, that's impossible, and BJ soon discovers that Daniel treats her like any other woman.
Instead of immersed in pain, BJ resigned decisively and went to the TV station as an outbound reporter.
During the relationship between BJ and Daniel, Mr. Darcy, the hero of the film, also began to pursue BJ. The film is called the modern version of Pride and Prejudice because of Darcy. Moreover, the role of Darcy in the two films is Colin Firth (it shows how noble and princely style is).
It is said that when author Helen created Darcy, it was based on Colin. Renee Zellweger, who played BJ later, won the Oscar for this film instead of Colin. Helen was not happy. What is a movie fan? That's called fandom.
Darcy was also a blind date arranged by BJ's mother for Christmas, however, like Elizabeth and Darcy, the two hated each other the first time they met.
Different from Daniel's debauchery and frivolous personality, Darcy is a famous human rights lawyer, whose personality and temperament are exactly the same as those of Darcy in Jane Austen's writings.
And he can fall in love with this BJ who is neither beautiful and elegant, nor can play the piano, but has a wonderful singing voice, it is really incredible. After all, Elizabeth was a recognized beauty, with a beautiful body and a good sense of humor.
If BJ and Elizabeth have anything in common, it's that both are optimistic, cheerful, sincere, open-minded, and humorous? (I think BJ's humor is a lot of words but brains), no matter what kind of adversity, he can face it positively.
For example, BJ has repeatedly made a fool of himself in the TV shooting. If he changed to other women, he would have been ashamed and cried and wiped his tears, but BJ would always tell himself that it was nothing.
In the second part, when BJ was framed by a drug dealer in Thailand and put behind bars, she was still in the mood to teach other female prisoners in the prison to sing Madonna together, and soon became one with all the female prisoners, which really made people have to admire.
Of course, more importantly, BJ's courage in love, and in love, never loses himself, which is what many people lack.
Many people miss out on good men and good women because they are afraid of meeting bad men or women;
In fact, at any time, as long as you are yourself and become yourself, that is the real charm. As COCO · Chanel said: "Beauty is to be completely yourself. There is no secret to elegance, the real difficulty is to find yourself."
Darcy told BJ, I like the way you look, it's the most beautiful love story. Likewise, BJ sees Darcy the same way. Everyone is not perfect, whether it is BJ's alcoholism, smoking, obesity, and open mouth; or Darcy's dull, arrogant, and ignorant of emotions, they are not the most perfect lovers for each other.
But Darcy likes BJ's optimism, sincerity, dare to love and hate; BJ likes Darcy's integrity, loyalty and gentlemanly demeanor. On top of that, both of them, compared to Daniel, believe in the existence of true love. Compared with Daniel who loves himself the most (sweet words one second, death in the next second), BJ and Darcy both believe that loving someone is actually happier.
Yes, love takes courage, both for BJ and Darcy.
Obviously, BJ couldn't integrate into Darcy's upper-class social circle at all. With Darcy, she needed to bear too much social pressure. Even an optimist like her was frustrated many times. Therefore, the two separated and joined together. Together, it was not until BJ was 43 years old that he finally married Daxi Fengzi.
At this point, the Internet giant Mike is more down-to-earth and can make BJ feel more fortunate. But there is no way, BJ loves Darcy so much that he didn't choose the seemingly easier life.
The same is true of Darcy. A noble lady born in the upper class is actually more suitable for a prince like Darcy. But he took the risk of marrying a silly girl in the studio who always took the driver as a general of a country.
It is conceivable that the future life of the two people is still bumpy. In the third installment, Darcy and BJ did not resolve the conflict over whether their children should go to boarding Eton College or a regular school.
However, after countless times of ons and offs, they will know better how to resolve conflicts. As Rene Liu's "Harvest" said, "I think we will all make mistakes again, but this time it will be easier to get through."
In short, as a romantic comedy, if you ignore the Mary Su complex, "BJ's Single Diary" is still very classic, with tight rhythm, repeated jokes, and a male god sitting in the seat, it is difficult to not look good.
