I can't go back

From the moment Ryu was lying naked on the ground with one of his kidneys removed, he was destined to never look back.

Everyone who died in the film was a kind person.

Sister Ryu committed suicide because her brother kidnapped a little girl to save her. It's ironic that the little girl fell into the water and asked Ryu for help, but he was deaf and could not hear at all. Seeing this, he was very anxious and hoped for a miracle, but the moment the little girl floated on the water Chilled. Ryu suffered another major blow after burying his sister. A mentally handicapped man on the shore just wanted to take the necklace from the little girl's neck. He had no concept of life and death, which further showed that although Ryu was deaf and dumb, he was mentally sound, and he was the trouble and sorrow of the people at the bottom of the society. Ryu's girlfriend didn't say Ryu's whereabouts even when she was in great pain. Ryu could only shake his dead girlfriend's hand in the elevator. This kind of love was moving. In the end I had a bold idea that Ryu was dismembered by Dongjin, a coat and two tight bags, it was hard not to make me think about it. Everyone in the film is dead, but I think it's a good ending, because anyone who survives will have no meaning in their future lives, like walking dead. Such a chain of revenge is very calm, cruel, and wonderful.

It is precisely because they are all kind people that once they take revenge, they are destined to never give up until their goal is achieved, and they are destined to be unable to turn back.

Park Chan-wook's revenge trilogy has been completed so far. But in the order of the trilogy, I wish I had read it backwards. The film is very quiet, there is no extra background music at all, and there is no suspense in the plot. It is very simple. The little characters seek revenge for revenge, pure revenge, maybe because this makes me a little uncomfortable. Bae Doona's organization is so awesome, I thought she was just a liar

satirical movie. The last hatred ended in the hands of terrorist groups. The rhythm of the whole film is too good. It is not rushed but irresistibly advanced step by step, as if there is an invisible force that stirs everything together. Korean directors are good at expressing with static shots, and the editing and shooting are amazing.

Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance quotes

  • Park Dong-jin: I know you're a good guy... but you know why I have to kill you...

  • Cha Yeong-mi: The bad image kidnappers get is because of kids getting killed. But we're different. Give us the money and we'll return the kid pronto.
