8.7-11 Portrait of Dorian Gray ★★★★★Dorian
looks pretty good, with those pale fingers, especially in the sun.
Wow, this book was absolutely crazy in the 19th century, but now, 200 years later, technology understands a lot of things.
Dorian also consistently reflects Wilde's thoughts, the eternal pursuit of beauty. Things are praise of not everlasting.
Everyone is getting old except Dorian. He is against nature.
Time has really changed so many things. Henry Dorian....
If this book is used for a dissertation, absolutely yes, so many elements.

Should it read like this: Doring, Ray! Wilde's stuff is definitely difficult to photograph, and anyone who does it is disillusioned, but when Lord Henry becomes less persuasive to lead people astray, when the root of desire that makes Dorian Gray fall to the devil is not displayed, it is still unbearable. Disappointment, coupled with the seemingly self-entertaining horror element, is really empty and superficial.

This film = a 10,000-word must-read list for junior high school students + abbreviated version of erotic SM thriller + Emily's mindless Wotton

Dorian Gray quotes

  • Dorian Gray: [On a girl he saw, who just departed with a man] That was probably her husband.

Lord Henry Wotton: Yes, very sensible... People die of common sense, Dorian, one lost moment at a time. Life is a moment. There is no hereafter. So make it burn always with the hardest flame.

  • Lord Henry Wotton: What are you?

Dorian Gray: I am what *you* made me! I lived the life that you preached... but never dared practice. I am everything, that you were too afraid to be.
