In my limited knowledge, the most similar temperament to this film is Edgar Allan Poe's "William Wilson".
According to past experience, you think this may be a high-IQ movie like "Deadly ID" and "Mulholland Drive". But this time you really think wrong (I can see the director snickering in the corner), the director didn't want to tell a story at all, he just wanted to show a state.
So, don't try to sort out the relationship between the characters in this film, because that's not the point, the only thing you have to do is to feel the state of the characters.
The director spends so much time playing with the noir style, the lighting, the scenes, the photography, how gloomy and depressing it is, it's not for showing off his skills, but he really wants you to feel in it.
I'm a person who emphasizes style over story. To put it to the extreme, you put "The Shawshank Redemption" and "The Blind Boy" in front of me and let me choose, I have no hesitation in choosing the latter (although the latter's story) Also very NB).
So, don't tell me how awesome your plot is, how awesome your lines are, and how deep your connotations are. Movies, just two words, one shot and one cut, boring, go to the side of death, and only those who watch it are eligible to enter my eyes.
I started to doze off in the middle of watching this film. Every time I was about to fall asleep, I was woken up by the exciting music.
So, basically, I watched the second half in this state of wanting to die.
I really wanted to give this film five stars, but I thought, "If you let me watch it again, I wouldn't watch it if I was killed," and "If you let me recommend it to others, I wouldn't recommend it to death." I still ruthlessly hit a three-star. You read that right, it's not crazy, it's not Nokia, it's Samsung.
In fact, think about the most fundamental reason, or because the film is not stylized enough. For example, the photography can be more aggressive, the editing can be more messy, the performance can be more crazy, etc. Although this may make some people more incomprehensible, But you can read it or not!
It's like watching AV without subtitles, who can understand what the plot is! Who cares what your plot is! Is it enough to feel the hormones in your body being secreted?
Finally, I want to say: watching this movie is a waste of time! Who cares who's an idiot!
