Andrei is an insignificant little man, at least he thinks so, and lacks self-confidence. Because of the lack of self-confidence, his life is in confusion. So God arranged for Angela, who is the opposite of his character, to save him. In fact, Angela is the other side of him. Either Outside or Inside is the opposite of Andre. This is a strong contrast between the two souls deliberately arranged by the director. That's the spirit of the whole movie.
Finally, in this era when commercial films are king, I haven't seen a literary film for many years. It's rare to see such a good-looking film once.
