Fried cold rice or cold rice?

To be honest, when I first saw the live-action version, I thought it was just fried rice. When I walked into the movie theater, I found that there were both surprises and disappointments.

Let's talk about surprises first. Real people + 2D is a very bold attempt. Obviously, the result is not concealed. The exaggerated comedy performance effect of 2D animation enhances the "special effects" in the real world, giving people a strong visual impact. "Breaking the dimensional wall" has been achieved in a certain way! Of course, the blunt cooperation of some scenes also made me dunk my toes out of the fantasy castle. A movie like this is still a long way off!

The soundtrack has always been Tom and Jerry's strong point, and this live-action version is no exception. The dynamic music and suitable performances add a lot to the movie. The last car chase scene even gave me a "burning" feeling.

Then there is disappointment. Why is it said that it is "ambiguous", because I can't see whether its audience is a pure cartoon for children, or an opportunity for old audiences to recall their childhood.

There are a lot of animation jokes in the movie, Tom playing the pianist trapped, Jerry's movable mouse hole, blowing balloons with his hands, etc. Basically, the jokes in the whole play are old stalks! It seems that today's children don't have a cold. Many children in my show didn't have that kind of laughing feeling. Only I felt that it was restored and hit the point of my memory!

But as an old viewer. These shots can only remind me of my childhood, and can't really achieve its "comedy" effect, but make me feel "flat". Moreover, the plot and the final sensationalism are too simple, and there is no feeling that makes my eyes shine.

Fried cold rice is indeed a new idea, but it is still cold rice. If you still position yourself as a "childhood memory cartoon", it will be difficult for the cat and the mouse to go far.

I really didn’t hold on to it? It turns out that this is what the live-action version means. It’s not like selling feelings, right? Those squashed headshots that appear in the animation are actually terrifying as an adult in a three-dimensional world. I really don’t think so. Do you teach bad kids? Yang Mi can, transform and attack Hollywood! The aunt next to me was eating grilled corn. It was so fragrant. She ran out to eat!

Just like the occasional nostalgia under the template life, the whole story follows the clichéd farce template of the movie, whether it is the "ability is important" theory of identity theft or the ending of a family carnival that turns enemies into friends, all of which are badly filmed stories. What's worse is that the Tom & Jerry rivalry, which should be the focus of the whole film, only occupies a small amount of space, and the struggle between them is also a classic old stalk of animation, without any innovation. What is more surprising is the style of cartoon drawing that blends with reality, only the degree of violation of the reveal when interacting with real people is a little unexpected. My subject has really grown and matured, but unfortunately, this acting skills are not seen. PS If Warner has a snack, you can replace that tiger with a lion.

Tom and Jerry quotes

  • Joy the Bell Girl: [trying to herd the exotic birds] Like, what sound does a peacock make?

Cameron: Like, *caw caw*, I think that sounds like it.

  • Spike: [after Tom hits him with a bat] Listen kitty cat, I don't like getting pounded, I see you again, I'm gonna bash your head in, capeesh?

[closes door, opens it again, grabs bat, bashes Tom's head in]

    Spike: Saw you again.

    [closes door]
