The Tale

As we grow up, our brains selectively "pick" our memories.

It's about a 48-year-old who wants to "go back in time" to find her 13-year-old and try to face her 13-year-old.

The beginning of the film tells the audience that this is a film based on a true story.

The story begins. Several articles that were turned out by my mother opened the memory valve of the 48-year-old heroine. When she received the article from her mother, she seemed to slowly remember the story of her "first love" when she was 13 years old.

The seemingly "pure" love story seems to hide something from the past that she doesn't want to recall. 13 year old boyfriend? Most trusted equestrian teacher? What the hell happened 35 years ago?

Under the persuasion of her mother, she decided to find the person at the time and herself at that time.

The wounds of the facts were gradually revealed. She respected and loved him, and seduced her by taking advantage of her ignorance and desire for attention and growth. This kind of brainwashing seduction made her always think it was a beautiful love experience. She kept calling him "older boyfriend", but she didn't know at the time that her body had been resisting, vomiting after every sex. As well as the escape symptoms of fever, her subconscious is saying no.

Selfish people will always find excuses for what they do, and use this to hide their inner unease.

The "older boyfriend" kept telling her that he loved her, put on a cheap ring for her, and told of their unique love, waiting hard for her to take the bait.

Trusted and beloved Mrs. G chose silence and became an accomplice, she helped Bill create various opportunities. When the heroine confronts her, her excuse is that no one helped her when she was seduced as a child.

The actress who plays the heroine is one of my all-time favorites. Especially at the end, before she faced her "first love", the shaking of holding the wine glass and the uneasy stance explained her anger, panic, and not knowing how to face her inner unease.

I think she was brave and she chose to face it.

Many people say that these things happen because of the lack of parents.

I think a big part of it comes from our trust in the world, our trust in human nature.

But in the end, human nature still ruthlessly took our army. The heroine's 13-year-old experience subconsciously affected her life. Through her mother's mouth, she learned that after that, she was very casual about love and sex, and her relationship was not smooth sailing. She didn't get engaged to her boyfriend until she was 45 years old. .

So when we are grateful to the world, don't forget that the darkness of this world, those ugly human nature will be exposed in the dark world.

As long as there is a chance, they will not hesitate to pounce on you, coercing and enticing you to take the bait.

Perhaps at the beginning of human beings, sex is not necessarily good.

4.5 But time...how time first grounds us and then confounds us. We thought we were being mature when we were only being safe.

This kind of film is not easy to evaluate... But the process of correcting people who remember little by little is still shocking. In fact, what would happen if they didn't stand on the wind like this?

The Tale quotes

  • Jennifer: [Staring at an 11-year-old photo of herself from the 1970's] I was so little!

  • Jennifer: I couldn't ask for help. I was waiting for you to save me. Somehow in my mind, it couldn't be anybody else. It had to be you. Why didn't you?

Mrs. G: No one saved me.
