i decide who i am

Who are you? Is it small? Is it Shiron? Is it Ah Hei? Or nobody?

I can't say that I really fully understand "Moonlight", maybe when I watch it again after a while, I will have a different experience. The following is a little feeling, maybe there is a mistake? Say not necessarily?

"Moonlight Boy" is rich in elements, black, drugs, homosexuality, bullying, growth... Its core is also growth and search.

There are three chapters and three stages in the film. In these three different growth periods, Shiron met people who had a great influence on his life.

As a kid, he met Hook, a drug lord. A person's childhood greatly affects his later life. The little boy's childhood was unfortunate. Bullied by classmates, poor family, lack of fatherly love, he is inferior and introverted and lacks love, and he is ignorant of the world. It was at this point that he met Hook, the man who gave him love and ideas.

"At some point, you have to decide what kind of person you want to be, and you can't let others decide for you." The blue child running under the moonlight was not named Bruce, but Hook.

He likes Hooker and Teresa, but he also knows that his mother is a drug addict, and the source of the drug is Hooker. He was confused and didn't know what to do.

He was ignorant and came to the Shiron period. At this stage, his life had a big turning point, and he also met a person with special meaning to him - Kevin. Hooker died, and her mother's drug addiction grew, and she became morbid and insane. Teresa is still a haven for him to hide from, she tells him you can come to me anytime, and teaches him "Don't bow your head in my house, you know my rules. There can only be love and pride here."

The situation on the campus is not optimistic. The bullying on campus is getting more and more serious. People treat him with malice and become accustomed to it. Under such oppression, he fled to the seaside, this special place, where he met a special person, Kevin. No one had ever taught him this, and no one had ever told him what he should do. For him, Kevin is the first love, special and unique.

But misfortune continued to come, and Kevin bullied Shiron with half-push and half-push under the impetus of the people around him. This has become his inner demon, his nightmare, something he doesn't want to recall, something he doesn't want to remember. But he was still reluctant to sue them, because Kevin would also be involved. The next day, he beat the perpetrator himself and went to jail.

Over the past ten years, Shiron has become a drug lord and a person like Hook. The past seems to have just passed by, leaving nothing behind. His mother had a new life in a new place and a new child.

But she regretted it and blamed herself. She said, "I've been a failure in the past, a total failure. But you shouldn't fall like me. God knows what I do when you need love, so you don't have to love me. But know that I love you. ." As these words were uttered, those days of lack of love, madness, morbidity, and disgust were over, and those feelings for mothers, disappeared, and slid down the cheeks.

Kevin appeared again, this very special person to him. Like a young boy, he put on the prepared clothes, combed his extremely short hair, and sneaked into the restaurant without saying a word. He was nervous, a little shy, even embarrassed. When he looked at him, his eyes were exactly the same as those on the beach back then.

But everything is different. Kevin has little Kevin, has his own home, and he has his own life. The boy who was with him on the beach, found what he called his "real life." "I've always been a cheap man. I've been working hard, but I've never done what I really wanted to do. I've always done what others asked me to do, and I've never been my true self." "Now, I have a child. , with a job and an 18-month probation." "It's life, you know? I've never had a life like this before, earning enough money for a pair of shoes, but I don't have to worry about it now, It's not like it used to be, this is real life."

Perhaps, this is growth, this is life. Those sufferings, self-struggles, and happiness in the process of growing up will gradually fade away with time. Maybe it's like Shiron gets into a police car and then goes to a drug lord. At the end, there is only one sentence, "After I arrive in Atlanta, I will be a new person, start from scratch, and be self-reliant."

The boy who runs in the moonlight is not called Blue, but Hook. The boy who listened to the story changed from childhood to Ah Hei. Perhaps growth itself is the process of finding oneself and recognizing oneself. Everything around me will affect my growth, but everything around me cannot determine my growth. Who am I? Who will I be? It's all my decision.

I decide who I am. I know who I am.

Overrated. Black gay addicts, all check, it's really hard not to make people think of political correctness. If you add transgender immigrant Muslims, this movie is not good enough. Knock on the blackboard and draw the key points. If you want to get the golden statuette in the future, take this photo!

This movie is really fresh and beautiful, even like a filtered memory with radiance. The story is simple, it doesn't matter whether you add three titles or not, and they all happen in the black community, without any imaginary skin color conflict. I think the director just wants to shoot the growth of an ordinary gay boy, regardless of skin color; his life has the same troubles as ours, he will be angry when he is bullied, and he can wait ten years for love...
