The film is ok

At first I thought there was nothing good, but when I saw the middle period, the various plots began to be coherent. Max was sentenced to 6 years for betrayal by a lawyer, the lawyer’s imprisoned love for his daughter, and 14 years ago because he wanted to protect female victims. And the concealed evidence is beneficial to Max and so on. This makes the film have a deep meaning, but for some plots in the play, such as the section where Max and his daughter are in the theater, and the escape to the houseboat, I think it’s a bit lengthy.

Old horse cow! All the actors performed first-class, plus the cameo of the old version of Gregory~ From the camera, music, to the thrilling atmosphere, a strong Hitchcock style!

Even as a movie in the 1990s, the format and picture are still old enough. Most of the dull sense of horror is not good and the subsequent sharp turnaround is not good. I don't see where DeNiro's handsome is a generation gap or just a problem with this film.

[Lights a flare and holds it aloft]

[lets boiling wax drip on his skin]

Max Cady: ... so you see! Granddaddy used to handle snakes in church, Granny drank strychnine. I guess you could say I had a leg up, genetically speaking.

  • Max Cady: [Approaching a dumpster Sam is hiding behind] Counselor... could you be there? Could you be there?
