Max, who didn't know the law, discovered Sam's betrayal of him in prison through self-study of law, and vowed to seek revenge on Sam.
In a flash, 14 years later, Max was released after serving his sentence, and he began his revenge plan. He first appeared near Sam's house, causing them to panic; then, the people Sam sent to deal with him were beaten up by him; he sneaked into Sam's house and killed the bodyguard and cook. The panicked Sam's family fled to a place called "Corner of Terror," and Max followed suit.
