Today, I will introduce an Indian horror movie "Tabad" full of surprises.

The film title is Rahi Anil Barve / Anand Gandhi / Adesh Prasad (2018), alias Tabard Village / Tabard Demon God / Village Demon (Port).

This is an Indian horror movie, and those who don’t like horror movies can retire.

"Tabad" is highly ideological. Through a story spanning decades, it deeply explores the influence of greed on human nature. The performance of the film completely exceeded my expectations. It would be a little underestimated if it was just regarded as a horror film.

"Tabad" cost only 700,000 US dollars, almost 4.8 million yuan, and it took 6 years to shoot before and after. It was screened at the Venice Film Festival in 2018 and became the first Indian film to be screened in Critics' week at the Venice Film Festival.

The beginning of the film is clear, and the basic settings of the whole film are introduced at the beginning.

There is a myth in India that the goddess of prosperity, who is in charge of gold and food, gave birth to 160 million children, who later became gods. The favorite of the goddess of prosperity is always the first child Hasta.

And Hasta is greedy by nature. He stole all the wealth of the goddess and wanted to steal food.

So when the gods found out, they tore him to pieces.

In order to save Hasta, the goddess of prosperity put him back into her womb. At the same time, as a punishment, it was agreed that Hasta would never be worshipped by the world, nor could he leave his mother's body.

Hasta has endless wealth in the womb of the goddess of prosperity, but he has to endure endless hunger.

Note that the Hastar here is (HASTAR), not the evil god Hastur. Hastur is the evil god in the Cthulhu myth created by the American novelist Howard Philip Lovecraft. The names are similar, but they belong to two different mythological systems.

[There are spoilers in this paragraph]

The story of "Tabad" is divided into three parts, which took place in 1918, 1933 and 1947, spanning 30 years, a story of three generations of grandparents and a mysterious treasure.

Briefly introduce the plot.

In 1918, the protagonist of the story was the ancestors. The old man Sarkar is the head of the village. Although he does not cover the sky with his hands, he is also a powerful man. He is the only person who knows the secret of the treasure and has not married for life, but he has a mistress who has been serving him, and two illegitimate children.

Sarka has never told the secret of the treasure, and brought this secret to the grave.

Sarka's Great grandmother (Great grandmother) once entered the treasure, and after she came out she became a rotten, immortal monster. In addition to serving Sarkar, the mistress also cooks food for Grandma Zeng.

In 1933, Vinayak, a son of his mistress, grew up. Vinayak grew up to be a strong man. He asked the secret of the treasure from Grandma Zeng and successfully obtained the gold coins in the treasure.

Since then, Vinayak has lived a substantial life, with a carefree food and clothing, and even a little wealthy.

Not only did he marry a wife and have children, but he also took in a concubine.

In 1947. Vinayak’s son, Pandurang, will grow up to 15 years old and will be able to become an adult in a few years.

In the process of growing up, Pandelang has been receiving special training from his father. Although Pandelang does not know the reason and purpose, he vaguely knows that these tasks are related to the treasure. Pandelang has been practicing hard in order to one day be able to go to the treasure with his father.

Pan Delang emerged from his first visit to the Secret Treasure Point, showing his ability and desire to surpass his father. Under the temptation of huge wealth, Pan Delang gradually deviated from the red line set by his father...

I feel that Indians’ obsession with singing and dancing goes deep into their bones, and even a piece of singing and dancing can be implanted in such a horror film.

In order to relieve his son’s worries, the father took his son to visit J Yard and staged a song and dance show. This song and dance arrangement is really slippery. Indians said in their hearts that as long as we want to sing and dance, we can do it at any time. There is no movie where we can't insert singing and dancing.

Buddhism has three thoughts of "greed, ignorance, and hatred", and "Tabad" focuses on greed.

The desires of the three generations of Sarka, Vinayak, and Pandran are stronger from generation to generation. The ancestors just kept a few gold coins, and the bluffing people in the village froze for a while, and lived their lives comfortably. After the fathers lay out the secrets of the treasure, they began to get rich, and they were still not satisfied with the money they could not spend for several lifetimes. They also trained their son to prepare for the treasure hunt. After seeing the mysterious treasure, his grandchildren were out of control. He was smarter, or more greedy, and thought of a more radical way of making money, which made his father look at him with admiration.

The production of "Tabad" is a bit interesting. The shots in the mysterious treasure have the feeling of "Dark Strike". It is definitely a surprise that a horror film can achieve such an effect.

Those who can survive are not greedy enough, and those who are greedy enough are cursed by Hasta for immortality and become part of Hasta.

According to the setting of the mysterious treasure, what falls in the womb will soon be absorbed by the uterus.

Therefore, both flour and gold coins only have a short retention time. You must leave before the flour barrier disappears or Hasta finishes the dough, otherwise the explorer will become Hasta's food.

Every expedition is repeating the same process, racing against time and speeding against Hasta.

Three time periods, tell the story of three treasure hunters, and these three generations, one generation is more greedy than one generation.

The desire for money and eroticism of the three generations has never diminished, and only the one visible to the naked eye is stronger than one.

The ancestor Sarka did not marry a wife, only found a mistress, and after giving birth to two illegitimate children, he did not train the illegitimate children to hunt for treasure. Sarka's desire for money and wealth is more restrained, and he is a happier one, but his desire for eroticism has not diminished. Even if the old cannot move, his mistress must help congest the cavernous body.

Vinayak, his father, became even more greedy. After earning inexhaustible gold coins, he still didn't hold back his hands, and even specially trained his son. In addition to his strong desire for gold coins, Vinayak also looked up to his father when he adopted his mistress.

Grandson Pan Delang thought of a more adventurous and seemingly more once-and-for-all method. People who are so greedy at a young age will never give up their desire for money. Even if he leaves the treasure temporarily, he will definitely make a comeback. Don't even look at Pan Delang's hairs. He just had a little money and knew that he would take care of his mistress at a young age, and even went to J hospital. Pan Delang's desire is like a bottomless pit.

Although we are seeking wealth and wealth, but excessive greed is not fruitful.

Pan Delang has a flexible mind. Without learning from the experience of his predecessors, he played with innovation and thought of bringing more dough. Through the cooperation of the two, one throws dough to feed Hasta, and the other steals Hasta's gold coin loincloth.

But it was unexpected that the consequences of the dough far exceeded their expectations. All those who died in this treasure were transformed into Hasta...

Perhaps the audience will have various questions, such as flour can ward off evil spirits, why not directly attack Hasta with flour, why Hasta can eat things made of flour, why not bring more flour and spend more protective circles...

This is exactly where the movie chicken thief is.

When you start thinking about how to earn more gold coins from Hasta, greed has been successfully activated, and it begins to sprout in your heart, right in the hands of the director.

At the beginning of the film, there was a passage from Gandhi: The earth can satisfy human needs, but it cannot satisfy human desires.

As the film said: Gold cannot stop desire, only death can.

In the face of greed, the ultimate end is only destruction. With greed in the heart, desire is like a bottomless pit, which can never be filled with dissatisfaction.

The stronger the desire, the faster the destruction.

Mythology Mingzhi is full of surprises.
