"Space" = "Thought"

The story is cross-acted in the "space" of reality and illusion. At the beginning, the constant telephone call is the product of Agnes in her own "space". She originally had a happy family, but everything happened after her son lost 10 years ago. Everything has changed. This part is real and the main reason why Agnes takes drugs.
Peter is a patient with delusions. Everything he says is delusional. Of course, worms are also the product of Peter's delusion. Therefore, self-mutilation will appear and lead Agnes into the same "space".
However, under normal conditions, it is impossible to enter this "space". This is why Peter has delusions. People, things, and things in the same "space" are all drawn to each other, precisely because the "space" is illusory. How to express it is exactly what makes this film different.
In the play, Jerry and Doctor Sweet appear together and explain why Doctor Sweet knew that Loyd was missing.
I personally feel that this movie is successful for the artistic conception it wants to express, because it interprets a kind of illusory "space" very real. Why is the evaluation of this movie so polarized? The main axis of the story is that it describes illusion. "Space", this is the part that many people cannot understand.

    In fact, I didn't understand it at first. . . But I think it's a good movie even if I don't understand it. . .
