In the last scene, Magda finally met Metok at the post office, but he said: "I don't peep at you anymore." For Metok, peeping is just a way of expression of emotion, it doesn't matter whether love or Sex, very simple, very direct, and very real. I don't know if I love you, I just want to see you, get close to you, and get to know you. And when I no longer spy on you, you should also understand that I have forgotten you.
This is the ending that Kieslowski wanted to express, and the heroine finally asked the director to make the ending warmer, so the version I saw was that Magda was peeping through a telescope in Metok’s room. In my room, I imagined the night when she spilled the milk, when she was crying for love, disappointment and sadness, Metok appeared next to her. Then the film ends.
