The director is the director of "Angels Love Beauty". This film is really similar to "Angels Love Beauty". It is full of bright and saturated colors. The nervous performance of the little trick and the actors makes the American western farm look like France. The countryside is as romantic. The stall that sells hot dogs on the way is as glamorous as the Moulin Rouge in Paris. Many details remind me of "Budapest Hotel" and "Moonrise Kingdom". They are also childlike with a little cult, and extremely wonderful composition. However, the director obviously has no ambitions. He just wants to tell a story of family love, parental care, and self-healing after a family loses a loved one. At the end, there is a kind of "Big Fish"-like reversal warmth, but It stops here. I can’t help thinking that it’s right that the director didn’t shoot "The Fantasy Journey of the Youth Pie". If he did it, it might be a colorful travel film, and Ang Lee showed more of his worldview and post-story. Metaphors and different interpretation possibilities.
When everyone was a teenager, they wanted to take a long and endless train, as if the train represented their own growth, extending the dimension of time into space.
