The play uses a prologue and three stages of narration to push the story to its climax. The whole play fully embodies its theme. From the misplaced identity of the protagonist, the "Wu Jian" of "Tao" is described incisively and vividly. Chen Yongren and Liu Jianming, one who wants to be real, one who wants to say goodbye to the past, yes. For them, the greatest pain is the inability to become a unified person.
