Do the best

The director has not changed. The actor has not changed. But the villain changed from the big gangster in the first episode to the penguin who was abandoned by his parents since he was a child because of his deformity. Bad people are no longer always bad for no reason, but caused by one or another reason. Burton's design gives the bad guys a human side, albeit the opposite. The female number one has also changed, but the beauty has not changed, and it is more mysterious and sexier. At the same time, the character description of Catwoman is also Burton's success in this film.
Warner didn't want Burton to shoot the third episode because he made this movie into a movie unsuitable for children.
My rating: 4.5

"Looking back at these two (Batman) movies, I think Bolton does have his own point of view and tried to integrate them into the material, but it is always difficult to match. No matter how hard you try, superheroes and black films will not go. Let's go together. The real core of the black film is: there are no heroes. I feel that Batman didn't begin to understand this until the end of the film."...Ebert

I always find the ending abrupt and surprising.

Batman Returns quotes

  • The Penguin: I could really get into this mayor stuff. It's not about power, it's about reaching out to people - touching people - groping people!

  • Maximillian 'Max' Shreck: I don't know what you want, but I know I can get it for you, with a minimum of fuss! Money, jewels, a *very* big ball of string.

    Catwoman: Your blood, Max.

Maximillian 'Max' Shreck: My blood, I gave, at the office.

Catwoman: A half pint, I'm talking gallons.

Maximillian 'Max' Shreck: Let's make a deal, other than my blood. What can I do for you?

Catwoman: Sorry, Max, a die for a die!
