Two lonely souls also look forward to more beautiful possibilities

Movie for Josh Hartnett.
The slightly frowning look in "Pearl Harbor" completely killed me. After watching "Mozart and the Whale", it turns out that he still has acting skills.
One is obsessive about numbers, one is afraid of the sound of metal hitting. In fact, something like this exists in all of us, but they are more sensitive than us.
When I was a child, I was especially afraid of the sound of metal hitting. It was a nightmare, a helpless nightmare. Donald would keep throwing his hands when he was stimulated to get rid of it. I was impressed by this action, like the powerlessness of being in the ocean and unable to grasp the life-saving straw.
After Donald asked his boss to come home for dinner, the two had a big argument. Isabelle said to him: "We are different, you want to be normal, good work ability, beautiful and dignified wife..." Doesn't Isabelle want to live a normal life? It's just too much despair after many episodes. Instead of standing on tiptoe to the so-called "normal", it's better to become an alien in the eyes of others, and it will be better, without extravagant expectations, without disappointment.
When Donald proposed to Isabel, she chose to commit suicide, also because the unknown future put too much pressure on her. They are in love, but no one can guarantee a future.
The most terrifying thing in the world is not the cruel reality, but the dazed future. Whether two lonely souls fit together is lucky or unfortunate, save each other or torture each other, I hope love can give them strength, after all, they have never endured more than us.
It's not just Donald and Isabel alone, there are so many souls we can't see.

Mozart and the Whale quotes

  • Donald Morton: You know how in the jungle, they say that some elephants have longer trunks and some of them have shorter ones. Yeah.

Isabelle Sorenson: Well, I don't care how long the elephant's trunk is... as long as his dick's okay.

  • Janice: Don't you hate all his numbers? Does he change his socks? Is his penis big enough?

Isabelle Sorenson: No, no and yes.
