"Infernal Affairs" + "The True Colors of a Hero", but better

I like the first half of this movie the most. The dialogue is so well written, with every word, fighting spirit and courage plus humor. The personality of each character is very distinct, especially the three protagonists, the police, the level of personality is expanded little by little, but the extra level is not strong enough to overwhelm the main tone set before, although the level is clear, the characteristics are still outstanding.

The rhythm of the film is also very good. At first, all the puzzles are unbuckled as the plot develops, but it is slow and orderly and never impatient.

The scene where Kim Basinger's character Lynn encounters Ed is so wonderful that it can't be more exciting, full of exaggeration and passion on the stage of the drama, including the eyes, tone and body language. It is really a very emotional scene.

The whole storyline feels like a combination of "Infernal Affairs" and "The True Colors of Heroes", the fascination is set, layer by layer is solved, and the final action scene is finished. This is really one of the most minded entertainment films, no wonder it is a classic Hollywood masterpiece over the years.

9.0 The most re-watched times in the police and gangster movies, the top is the case, the complex clues do not mess with the narrative rhythm, the solid script is full of plot tension, the actors perform the role modeling, and all aspects cooperate seamlessly, and the climax of the dark night gun battle is completely possible. Make up for the lack of action scenes. Rise and fall are entangled in ideals, tactics, and the law. Ed has completed the three questions about qualifications, but Rollo Tomasi almost made people cry.

  • [first lines]

Sid Hudgens: [voiceover] Come to Los Angeles! The sun shines bright, the beaches are wide and inviting, and the orange groves stretch as far as the eye can see. There are jobs aplenty, and land is cheap. Every working man can have his own house, and inside every house, a happy, all-American family. You can have all this, and who knows... you could even be discovered, become a movie star... or at least see one. Life is good in Los Angeles... it's paradise on Earth." Ha ha ha ha. That's what they tell you, anyway.

  • Lynn Bracken: You're the first man in five years who didn't tell me I look like Veronica Lake inside of a minute.

Bud White: You look better than Veronica Lake.
