I think Mr. J is a bug in the whole film. The whole film does not describe Mr. J’s true identity in detail, and the ending is very hasty, leaving me with an ambiguous imagination. I have two different conjectures about the real serial murderer. The first is that Mr. J is actually Soo-yeon after plastic surgery. He can feel nostalgia from the look in his eyes to Police Cui. Perhaps when Police Cui chose to leave her, Soo-yeon had been wiped out by himself.
Soo-yeon should suffer from a split personality. Soo-yeon is the master. She is not aware of the existence of other personalities and commits serial homicides. With the disappearance of the master, Mr. J’s personality is born. Hate makes Officer Cui think that his beloved woman is unclear because of his own reasons. Mr. J has been wearing a watch to be given to Officer Cui. In fact, Mr. J still retains the memory of Xiuyan in his heart, and hopes to end.
Before he died, Mr. J looked at Officer Cui's indifferent eyes, and finally fell down to look at the memorable watch, and before his death, he saw his mother who had always remembered him, which was very complicated. The second conjecture is that Mr. J is a person with a personality defect. When he caught the last victim, Xiuyan, he forced him to live together. After discovering that he was pregnant, he buried his body, and the rest of his life has always imagined that he is Xiuyan. Yeon, have special love for Officer Choi
