To "Son of Humanity": You, noble beasts, eternal humans like mayfly!

This is a gray future. The color is still in the picture, but it is losing bit by bit. Humanity hasn't stopped, but it's already on the verge of death. There is no doubt that no matter what we do, the lack of fertility will eventually lead to death. However, if treated peacefully, then this destruction will be peaceful and dignified.

This is how the upper-middle class lives. They are sad for the death of "Diago Baby", but other than that, they try not to think about the future and the present. Theo's brother rescued the statue of David. But as Theo asked, what use is this when the last human disappears from the universe a hundred years later? As his brother replied, he tried not to think about it.

Gasper was a political cartoonist. Imagine how sharp and radical he would be with such a typical artist's hair a few decades ago. Now he is just an old man. In her shelter, she takes care of her lover and dotes on her strawberry-flavored cigarettes.

Theo was an activist. Thinking of that time now, he said, I just wanted to have sex with you. Faintly helpless.

However, what the world is facing is terrible despair. It is ourselves who accelerate the destruction and turn this peaceful departure into hellish destruction. Great Britain is the only place where some order is still maintained. But what is this order? What we saw was a deja vu scene: the people in the prison were beaten to the overcrowded bus and sent to the hell-like concentration camp. Bexhill concentration camp, which sounds like the Bastille, looks like Auschwitz again. The 2027 image in this film evokes our memories of the period from 1942 to 1945. This future is the ripples of the past swaying at the other end of the torrent of time.

This is human fragility. A little bit of helplessness, when it spread to all mankind, it was swept up by the hearts of the people, lifted up and magnified into despair. Embraced by the cruel reality that cannot continue to survive, is the endless malice between people.

Kee is pregnant. The first newborn of mankind in 18 years. Seeing this, we were surprised, but at the same time we were like Theo, using a mocking tone, saying, what's the use of this? Even if people find a cure for infertility, mankind is already in the whirlpool of extinction; she is pregnant, but this miracle can only be manipulated by politics. The government will protect the child, but will not admit that the child’s mother is an immigrant; the “fish” will protect the mother and daughter, but they will be used as political influence. This miracle, here, is a cold fact, a miracle of probability, and nothing else.

But when people finally heard the baby's crying, despair and destruction ceased. The chant of the female voice in the background, and the cry of the baby in the picture-that is the sound of life. The camera was standing among people, and then as if in slow motion, all struggles stopped. The refugees have forgotten the suffering, stretched out their hands and touched the miracle. The soldier's muzzle fell and stood aside, for fear of destroying the faint hope. Artillery fire and bullets only exist in the distant horizon, and the only sound in the camera is crying.

Then the artillery continued. The screams and screams occupied the screen.

In the end, the dead Theo, Kee and the child sat in the boat, lying in the sea, the first cradle of life. Even at this time, the screen did not turn on. In the thick gray fog, they waited for tomorrow. The sky is still gunfire. Color still hardly exists in the world. However, even this little hope is enough.

"Son of Humanity" is a film that pays attention to delicate feelings. Its excellence is difficult to describe in words, but it can only be experienced with heart. If you have to elaborate, it may be that all of its techniques are so seamlessly integrated with the story that it is impossible to capture its subtlety without careful attention. Even the two amazing long shots can only be amazing when they are presented separately. In the film, they are just part of the story.

Their role cannot be ignored. Whether it is the long shots in the car or in the alley, they greatly enhance the audience's sense of substitution. Compared with editing, the difference between long shots is that the surrounding space can be preserved the most; sometimes in different angle editing of the same scene, we will feel a little confused, because although it is the same scene, two shots The backgrounds in may be loosely connected or somewhat conflicting. However, in the case of one shot in the end, the audience can know the surrounding environment as clearly as the character. The audience here is a ghost, a bystander between existence and nothingness. Although we still can't be in it, compared to frequent editing, the connection between us and the character is much stronger.

However, this effect is-at least on the surface-insignificant. Because after a while, we get used to it. We take this feeling for granted, so we can't realize the excellence of "Son of Man" compared to other films.

The same is the soundtrack and design of the film. The gray near future is so real that after a while, or carelessly, the beauty is ignored. It is no longer difficult to create a future world, but such a beautiful world that is extremely realistic and desperate is worth our applause.

Everything about it is so just right. One more point, then the film seems too sensational; one less point, then it cannot have such a shocking power. This is the difference between touching and bad emotions-but this is too absolute. After all, this is something that can't be discussed, can't be calculated, at most I can only say that it is my feeling. I can only say that the "Son of Man" reflected in my eyes is perfect.

3.

The story of "Son of Man" is not too shocking. Many routines and types can be seen from it. However, its subtlety lies in its form; it is a purely cinematic film. In any other form, it will not be so outstanding. This is a movie that looks wonderful when the screen, music, performance, script, and art design are all integrated.

And what is its theme? This is a simple movie. There is no complicated philosophy, it only expresses a feeling; this is an ode to mankind. In this huge human society, sometimes the rupture of a certain chain can cause us to fall into extreme panic and mad self-destruction-one or two inches of territory can bring wars, and differences in religious dogmas can bring killings. An offense to the created "dignity" of nothingness can bring blood, a quarrel can bring tears; a barren future can accelerate our destruction.
This is our most vulnerable point.

This is also our strongest point. A word of comfort can bring back hope, a hug can wipe away the scars, and a conversation can wipe away tears. The cry of a newborn baby can stop bullets, artillery fire, pain, madness, death, despair, destruction. A little light in the darkness can illuminate our entire universe.
