"dogma" is a film closely related to theology, is it a kind of cult?
It's Christian content and background culture throughout, so I think people who believe in this or have a knot will look more enjoyable.

A few actors are the highlights, except for the two fried chicken leading actors, but the deep voice of the snape in Harry Potter is enough to attract me. And there are two prophets who speak a lot in Chinese, that is, the actor who plays the love notebook, which is even more attractive.

The director's style is very different. It is not clear whether it is a fantasy comedy or a serious one. It gives people a subversive feeling, just like the 'Jesus buddy' with a thumbs up at the title, which seems to make people unable to see through the director's intentions. It's like several directors are lined up together, or the director has a bad habit of split personality or convulsions.

The second is the pronunciation, speed and vocabulary of the film, which may be a small challenge for students who have always claimed that English is good for watching soundtrack movies.

I don't know how to write movie reviews, and I haven't watched it. I grabbed a seat on the sofa today, and I hope everyone can stay together.

Kevin Smith completely deconstructed Christian doctrine with the skin of spoof comedy, ridiculed the essence of religion and capitalism, played with private bad tastes, and did not forget to densely place fan marks and pop culture easter eggs. Also based on the Doomsday War of the Apocalypse, the humorous and serious script is more absurd than Good Omens, and goes farther from the subversive meaning of the deviant. God is a girl, Jesus is a black man, the last descendant of God was martyred and was conceived to give birth to a female holy child, the ultimate fall of an angel is to transform into a human, the uninspired muse lives by striptease... both entertainment and profound, criticism of modern society and ills. The rebellion of religious and cultural traditions is caught in the middle of the seemingly joking dialogue. If the omnipotent God were proven to be wrong, the world would crumble into nothingness. The innuendo seems to be aimed only within Catholicism, while the scope of ridicule extends to all tyranny systems. Even if the ending ends in a gentle rescue, the bloodbath of the gates of heaven presented by cheap props is enough to constitute a shocking metaphor. Fallen to destruction, Benji & Matt, contra mundum.

No matter how dazzling Alan Rickman is, and no matter how big the cards of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are, they can't hide the invincible Jay and Silent Bob!

Dogma quotes

  • Bartleby: I'm going to have to start off by apologizing for my friend, he has a penchant for the dramatic.

  • Bethany: [on Azrael] So he's a Muse too?

    Serendipity: Former Muse.

    [sing-song]

    Serendipity: He was kicked out...

Azrael: Oh, by all means, tell them, Serendipity. Tell them how I was slighted by the Allmighty.

Serendipity: You got what you deserved, you yellow shithead.

Azrael: Ever the fucking apple polisher!
