Personal Brief Commentary on "The Genius"

Very interesting film, very suitable for parents and children to watch together. It is still "the melancholy core wrapped in icing sugar", but the ending is the warmth close to human feelings. Children who are geniuses in the eyes of their father Roy are not happy when they grow up. They are imprisoned in their own stubbornness, empty in their hearts, and vulnerable to the blow of life. When the hardships of life forced the separated family members back to their old houses, a father who made a big mistake in his marriage and family more than 20 years ago only slowly understood his child's heart when he reunited again. Sadly, the father took advantage of everyone's last sympathy for him and consumed the last trust. When he was kicked out of the house, he began to re-examine himself, and he approached his children and grandchildren carefully in his own way. Then the contradictions brought about by the strict eccentricity and selfishness in the family relationship in the first half of life are difficult to resolve. In the film, Eli is a child who yearns for the halo of the Trennbaum family since childhood. He has also lived his life with the goal of being a genius, but his sword is slanted. Own. My favorite is the wedding scene, when Eli will smash into the Trennbaums in a frenzy, and the family realizes the value of life again in this sudden bolt from the blue. The camera moves smoothly, showing everyone's interesting state in the endgame of the accident - they tend to cherish each other, and the picture is full of warm love.

The music in the film is based on emotional folk music, the rhythm is very cheerful, and the lyrics are a bit allegorical. I like this fresh feeling.

Needless to say, film and television aesthetics such as mirror movement, picture composition and color are very personal style of director Wes Anderson, and it is very comfortable to look at.

The characterization of Weiss movies is always so perfect, and each character is obviously carefully designed from the inside to the outside, which I have to admire. It should be the best one of the director's early works. It is funny and interesting. The OCD-level scene design has begun to take shape. The ending of the healing system is also very pleasing. How can people not like it?

A self-made father, a stern mother, and three gifted children. Are all geniuses so fragile? The beginning feels good, and there is a sad atmosphere in the back. What's more dramatic is that the screenwriter of the film is also Owen Wilson, who plays the role of the writer for several years. He also attempted suicide before and then came out of the shadows. He played the male pig's foot in Paris at midnight in 11 years.

  • Ari: [about Margot's severed finger] Did you try to sew it back on?

    Margot: Wasn't worth it.

  • Tennis Match Commentator #1: That's 72 unforced errors for Richie Tenebaum. He's playing the worst tennis of his life. What's he feeling right now, Tex Hayward?

Tex Hayward: I don't know, Jim. There's obviously something wrong with him. He's taken off his shoes and one of his socks and... actually, I think he's crying.
