The Condor on Ling Yun "Rising Clouds" is an inspirational air combat movie produced by Paramount Pictures and directed by Tony Scott. As an air combat movie, "Rising Aspirations" mainly tells the growth process of a man Pete Mitchell (played by Tom Cruise) overcoming suffering and finally soaring into the sky. Pete Mitchell in the play is a very talented, but slightly "bohemian" lone ranger, but because of the unknown disappearance of his father, who is also a pilot, he is questioned and not reused. When he was going to be discouraged, an opportunity fell from the sky and he was able to go to the top flight training unit of the U.S. Navy-the U.S. Naval Combat Weapons School for training.
Because he always wanted to be an excellent pilot like his father, which caused excessive psychological pressure, his training results have been very unsatisfactory. At the same time, in a training before graduation, he and his best partner drove the same plane. They were forced to jump into the sea, and his good partner died unfortunately. This series of blows made him feel helpless, and even wanted to give up his dream of being a pilot. Later, he was inspired by the powerful love power of the beautiful instructor Charlie, and cheered up again. Annihilated the enemy in one fell swoop, and eventually became an excellent flying hero. From a plot point of view, "Rising the Clouds" actually adopts a traditional love story structure, but the background of the story is set in the United States. When facing Chinese audiences, it will not make everyone feel too strange while maintaining a certain level. With a sense of freshness, against the backdrop of these plots, "Rising the Clouds" contains many eye-catching highlights. First of all, the film has a large number of high-tech advanced technologies and excellent flying skills.
The director took advantage of the protagonist’s identity as a pilot to show a large number of high-tech aircraft and their excellent flying skills, making the audience excited and immersive. Among them were the most advanced F-14 Panda fighter jets of the U.S. Navy at the time. There are the A-4 attack aircraft and the former Soviet Union MIG-28 fighter jets that have appeared as negative characters, which can not help but make the audience who can only see their heroic appearance in the pictorial. At the same time, the presentation of numerous air combat scenes and stunt performances not only attracted the love of many military fans, but for the general audience, such a visual impact was also extremely tempting.
As a movie released in 1986, it was not easy to be able to shoot such a wonderful air combat scene when the special effects technology was not very advanced at the time. Throughout the history of the film, the air force film "Red Baron" and "Black Hawk Down" , "Air Force One" and the recent "Decisive Battle of Midway" are not only innovations in shooting technology and special effects, but also innovations in dramatic conflicts. From personal heroism to national heroism, the film has shaped the protagonist Mede through many inscriptions. Lin Mingming’s character also shows us the growth of Medellin and the inspirational and military theme of the film through the depiction of the psychological activities of the characters. It has to be said that this is a great soldier’s self-blooded history.
