Medellinis a US Navy lieutenant, codenamed "The Lone Ranger." His father was an old pilot with outstanding military exploits and an unshakable idol in his heart. Once, he and Gus, who is also a naval officer, were sent to the Fighter Weapons School (TOP GUN) to receive the most rigorous training. In the first training session, the instructors encouraged them to be the most elite pilots in the United States. However, Medellin’s training was not smooth. He was always maverick in the air and did not cooperate with others. The instructors were always dissatisfied with his results. The students, especially Snyder of the fourth team, codenamed "Iceman", even more. Is quite a criticism of him. In a teaching class, his deliberately making things difficult and embarrassing the female instructor Charlie, there are differences and estrangement between the two. Medellin fell in love with the beautiful and enthusiastic Charlie. Gradually, Charlie fell in love with this individual student and made an exception to invite him to her home as a guest. This inspired Medellin who was struggling with training all day. However, Medellin's flight training is always mediocre and cannot be affirmed by his superiors, so he is depressed all day. In a training session before graduation, Medellin and his partner Goose, code-named "Stupid Goose", drove the same plane. During this time, the plane stalled and entered a spin and was about to crash into the sea. Medellin and Gus were forced to parachute. As a result, Gus died unfortunately because of an impact on the fuselage. This made Medellin, who had been upset all day, even more painful. He was depressed and decided to give up his ideals and become an elite pilot. The instructor McCain, who was a comrade-in-arms with his father, encouraged Medellin to persevere. No matter what the environment, a good pilot would not be intimidated and once again taught him not to be discouraged by his father's deeds. Charlie also came to encourage him to be ambitious and strive to become an excellent pilot, but Medellin's unreliable attitude made Charlie leave in pain.

Top Gun quotes

  • Sundown: [Maverick suddenly flies off after refusing an easy shot on Jester] Hey, where the hell are you going?

Maverick: Uh... It's not good. It doesn't look good.

Sundown: What do you mean, "it doesn't look good"? It doesn't get to look any better than that.

  • Viper: [after the first hop with Jester ends with Maverick shooting down Jester at the hard deck and Maverick doing a fly-by near a tower] Gentlemen... You had a hell of a first day. The hard deck for this hop was 10,000 feet. You knew it, you broke it. You followed Commander Heatherly below after he lost sight of you and called no joy. Why?

Maverick: Sir! I had Commander Heatherly in my sights, he saw me move in for the kill. He then proceeded below the hard deck. We weren't below 10,000 for more than a few seconds. I had the shot, there was no danger, so I took it.

Viper: You took it... AND BROKE A MAJOR RULE OF ENGAGEMENT. Then you broke another one with that, uh, circus stunt fly-by.

    [Viper sighs]

Viper: Lieutenant Mitchell... Top Gun rules of engagement exists for your safety and for that of your team. They are not flexible, nor am I. Either obey them, or you're history. Is that clear?
