Wilderness, sky, long takes, messy narrative, typical Van Sant style. The skateboarding teenager swept across the blurred corridor, which was freehand panic and helplessness. The letter paper disappeared in the flames, but the content could not be dispersed with the soot. The repression didn't end at the end of the film, it would be the secret that was in Alex's (well.. the protagonist's name is Alex..) for a lifetime. I like Van Sant's use of hearing, punk, or psychedelic music, and the trivial murmurs that reflect the characters' hearts. . Flashback interlude. . He is running away. . But the abridged truth still spilled out of Alex's memory bit by bit. . Negligence and crime aside, it is still a youth full of problems. . . Van Sant makes growth visible. . and the loneliness in every film
