love in troubled times

It's the same troubled love. Gone with the Wind is much better.
The narrative of this film is confusing.
I thought that the little nurse would have some kind of relationship with the male protagonist with a disfigured face.
In fact, the hero recalls his previous affair.
.........Such an affair is destined to be of little significance.
The film is highly rated and seems to have touched a lot of people. But it really confuses me.
In fact, I am also a person who is easily moved, but this film did not move me in the end.

This is how the story should be told, layer by layer, without rushing to reveal the truth, and slowly revealing the hard core - the plight of human beings, and the dignity and love preserved in the plight. So twisted, so heartbreaking, and so beautiful. So that every time I think of things related to love, caves, deserts, white yarn, and books with love words; and war, artillery fire, and human self-inflicted pain are not in this imagination.

The English Patient quotes

  • Almásy: You're wearing the thimble.

Katharine Clifton: Of course, you idiot. I always wear it; I've always worn it; I've always loved you.

  • Katharine Clifton: D'you not come in?

Almásy: No. I should go home.

Katharine Clifton: Will you please come in?

    Almásy: Mrs. Clifton...

    Katharine Clifton: [scowls] Don't.

Almásy: I believe you still have my book.
