Life and death are never separated

I want to watch this film again this time, except for the moment when the thick lines of feelings did not capture the heartstrings, and it is Xu Haofeng's "Knife and the Stars" recommended by my colleagues in the past two days, a film that accommodates Chinese Jianghu culture and Taoist spirit. Once slipped away from me and didn't stop.
Regarding the interpretation of this film, there are many angles, such as martial arts sects, Taoist shadows, and lingering sex. I don't want to say more about my feelings in these aspects. I'll start with just a few places that shook me.
The first place that shocked me was a conversation between Yu Jiaolong and the blue-eyed fox:
"I practiced secretly with you when I was ten years old, and you taught me a dream in the rivers and lakes, but one day, I found that I could defeat you, you I don't know how scared I am, I can't see the edge of the sky, I don't know where to go, who can I follow?" The
first time I heard this, I could understand all her choices in life:
When she was driving in the desert, she touched the jade comb and said disappointedly: "It's okay to walk for so long; there is a kind of break free in her heart, and the appeal to herself has long been deeply rooted. She never demands a quiet life, because she has something in her heart. The desire for the free swing of the swordsman of the Jianghu. It has been revealed in the above dialogue that a heart that has been in contact with legends since the age of ten has to be bound by traditional morals and etiquette. She has always endured the feeling of being bound.
b Why did you choose to chase Luo Xiaohu, and why was he so easily moved. Look carefully, you can see from their roar when they were suddenly attacked by a cloud in the desert, and then see Yu Jiaolong probing from the horse, what you always see in her eyes is not panic, not fear, but passing glances in indifference. desire. Even if you pay attention to the eye contact between Luo Xiaohuduo and Yushu, it is by no means the first time the robber and the daughter meet each other's eyes. That kind of staring looks similar, at least they know each other. Especially Yu Jiaolong's eyes, not anger, but longing, as if finally breaking her previous 'always okay' calm. I think in his heart maybe she wanted to thank Luo Xiaohu, because he gave her a reason to break free, so she couldn't help but chase after him on horseback. In the process of chasing, she should be happy, free, and enjoy. From her several fights with Luo Xiaohu, it can be seen that she doesn't seem to have any powerful tricks, just clumsy and simple fighting behavior.
A person who has been instilled with the dream of a chivalrous warrior since childhood, coupled with the pressure of feudal morality and etiquette, her rebelliousness has long been doomed, and at this time, a stronger man must be able to tame her. A person who advocates freedom must have a certain wildness, an unruly life that returns to the nature of natural animals. And Luo Xiaohu is a kind of liberation and return to the surrounded Yu Jiaolong, both in terms of strength and the original environment of survival, so it is natural for her to find Luo Xiaohu.
c Did she like Li Mubai? I saw some film critics say that she and Li Mubai had an affair, especially the fight in the bamboo forest, the hazy through the forest, the sparse shadows slanting horizontally, the swaying posture is an ambiguous relationship, and looking down and slamming is a gesture of intimacy between men and women. I have to admit that the ambiguity factor is in it, but I prefer to interpret it as a sense of security after the boundless search for the edge.
Let's start with that conversation. After she learned the art, she found that the master who once admired her could no longer give her room to grow. All her previous martial arts practice had a limit, that is, the master.
Only when there is a limit, there is fear, and when there is fear, there is something to pursue.
There was something to grab, and now, there is none.
As she said, without margins, she would be afraid and would not know who to follow. In her life, she longs for freedom, but you give her absolute freedom, she will not be happy, compared to freedom, she is more eager to have someone taller than her.
This person is obviously Li Mubai.
Compared to everyone's guess that she may have fallen in love with Li Mubai, I think she doesn't know what she wants at all, she just wants a side that doesn't make her afraid.
I think it was said in "The Great Master" that there are three realms of martial arts: seeing oneself, seeing heaven and earth, and seeing sentient beings.
She has only been in the stage of seeing herself all her life, and she still needs to find heaven and earth because she understands what heaven and earth are.
As for Li Mubai, I think what he practiced was not the essence of Taoism. Maybe you want to say that the Taoism of the Qing Dynasty is no longer the simple school of Lao Zhuang and Zhuang. Human body alchemy, no matter what kind of realm comes down can not be regarded as the root of Taoism, at least it is not in line with Tao itself.
Why is Li Mubai's cultivation not in place?
Maybe you still remember Li Mubai's promises to Lu Xiulian: when
he first arrived at the security guard, he said,
"I once entered a deep silence, and there was only light around me. Time and space did not exist. Surrounded by the sadness of silence, this sadness If it exceeds the limit I can bear, I will give up."
Then there is the following sentence: "I can't let go of a part of my mind."
These two sentences express the situation of Taoist swordsmanship and the needs of Rendan: show yin and yang.
It is precisely these two sentences that can see Li Mubai's hypocrisy, the best realm of true Taoism: Taoism is natural, without desires and desires. Natural creation. And what he said about the unbearable limit of shelling shows that his cultivation has not yet reached the highest level. The highest point of Taoist cultivation is that heaven and earth have contracted with me, and they merge naturally. You don’t have to go out. You are heaven and earth, and heaven and earth are you. Obviously, from Li Mubai's release, I felt that his cultivation skills were insufficient.
After inserting Li Mubai's retreat results, and looking at Yu Jiaolong, I think she should have seen Li Mubai's "ulterior motives." You can hear the words she reprimanded during the fight in the palace:
Wudang Mountain is a tavern prostitute kiln.
She knew that in her heart, Li Mubai was never someone who would fall in love. As for saving him later, that's her lovely place.
Having written this, I would like to comment more on the words that Li Mubai taught Yu Jiaolong in the temple,
"Li Mubai is a false name, a sect is a false name, and this sword is also a false name.
" Sharpness, cannot be preserved forever", from the ninth chapter of the Tao Te Ching: Persist and gain it, it is not as good as it is; hide it and sharpen it, it cannot be preserved forever. The hall is full of gold and jade, and no one can guard it. Rich and arrogant, take the blame for yourself. Success is the way of heaven. To put it simply, it is the true meaning of heaven and earth that when things are extreme, they must be reversed. The highest state is to look at gains and losses dialectically. The highest realm is the true meaning of heaven and earth, which is based on inaction and no struggle
. I follow people's backs." These words come from Lao Tzu, doing nothing but doing something, and Taoism is natural.
Seeing these few words, if they can add to the connotation of the film, I think it is a bit far-fetched. From what Li Mubai's actions are incompatible with these Taoist spirits, it is not apostasy, at least not enough There were such Zen-like words in his mouth.
I prefer the truth of Yu Jiaolong in this fight. In fact, the Dao is simple, and there is no need to be in the dark. As long as it is real, this is the highest realm of Dao. She dares to be rebellious (running away from marriage, reconciling with Luo Xiaohu Yunyu, contempt for authority (Li Mubai)), while Lu Xiulian and Li Mubai still have to abide by the Three Principles and Five Constants, ethics and morals, (the former husband of Lu, the brotherhood is hard to overcome, Afterwards, she advised Yu Jiaolong to think of her parents, who had to consider the interests of all parties in the arena.) Lu Xiulian had never entered Taoism, so she did not force her, but felt pity. From this perspective, you will even feel that Li Mubai is a fake Taoist priest, a real Taoist realm, who has become an immortal, and is compatible with heaven and earth. Where can you see the ethical fetters of Confucius and Mencius, Li Mubai, full of Laozi's classic sentences, but often Do Confucianism and Mencius Confucian gift. Thinking about it now, it's kind of interesting.
Yu Jiaolong's original intention is to seek a kind of freedom, and her starting point is towards the Tao, and she still has a competitive and possessive heart, which is the only way for her to find herself and then let go of herself.
Therefore, she could see Li Mubai's intentions for her, and she did not love her deeply. Even with all kinds of soft and lingering eye contact from Zhulin, those emotions would not be the most important when it comes to finding herself. . From the sentence she asked in the cave: do you want a sword or me. She must know that Li Mubai will want her, and she only needs a sword.
Therefore, she loves the sword, or she wants to find herself, and more loves Li Mubai.
The above is from the first dialogue shot that shook me to lead out the part about Yu Jiaolong's self-seeking before its emergence.

Here's the second shot that shook me: the final fall. Careful people can pay attention to her facial expressions in the clouds. Peaceful and calm, revealing calm and enjoyment. Seeing this scene, my eyes were wet, not because of the withering and coldness of a life, but because of the calmness and shock of her life.
Looking at her, the stretched limbs, the thin gauze like feathers, fluttering lightly, as if this is not death but a return, a kind of cold beauty.
At this time, Yu Jiaolong is no longer the pure and affectionate girl in the desert. For Xiaohu, she has the comfort of memory, and that comfort cannot fulfill her pursuit of a higher self.
Some people say that Li Mubai's death caused her death. There is a relationship between the two, but it is not because of love, it is a kind of fearlessness after boundless. I still remember before that she said she would be afraid if she couldn't find that side, but now Li Mubai is the side, but she's gone, and the next Zhang Mubai and Zhao Mubai will disappear. middle.
When you know the people around you is the heaven and the earth, and the heaven and the earth are forever, you won't be afraid as long as you have the heaven and the earth. Just as Zhuangzi once sang it after his wife died, in his heart, life and death were never opposites, they were one. True Taoism doesn't care about the existence of form. Yu Jiaolong chose to die at this moment. One is to say goodbye to Xiaohu for some infatuation, which can be regarded as eliminating his thoughts and less harm to him. One is to find his side, and that side will not cause her fear.

Life and death are never polar opposites.
Life can die, and death can live.
So, clearly.
