I am obsessed with Gothic style: When Tim Burton’s film "Drifthead Valley" was in
graduate school, the senior thesis written by the senior sister was a Gothic novel. Now there is no such thing as a "Gothic film" in academia, even if it is In Encyclopedia Britannica, there is no entry for Gothic Movie/Film at all. I wonder if Sister Sister rewrites the thesis now, will the chapter of Gothic film be added?
Bolton’s movie "Dropped End" was seen on a table in a classmate’s dormitory a few years ago. I didn’t even plan to watch it at all when I saw it was a vulgar movie with the name.
I saw a trailer video on the Internet a few days ago. It was the American version of "Guillotine Valley". After watching it, I decided to find the movie and revisit it. Then I found out that the original star was Johnny Depp, in 1999. He is still very young and can't see what he is now. He has no beard, no surroundings, fair skin, and of course his slightly neurotic acting style has always been there.
Depp's quilt was pulled to his chin and was so scared that he was so cute.
This film is a successful commercial film that incorporates the elements of a thriller (headless horseman), a rich lady who falls in love with a handsome boy, a clean and tidy man with a knife and a knife, and the children of the proletarian peasants take revenge on the landlord. Van Gaso’s old treasurer, well, and the evil stepmother is going to kill the beautiful lady.
These are plots that the people like to hear and see.
However, what fascinates me is the foggy ghost forest, the dark texture of the streets of New York (1800), the gloomy Dutch town that seems to never see the sky, the branches like the devil’s arm, the symbols of pagans, can bring God Only Bolton made such a beautiful ghost film. This kind of medieval oil painting effect full of texture, ah, I like it so much.
Come back to the movie, Pu Songling told us that all ghost movies are human movies, ghosts are not scary, talents are scary.
This is a universal value that can be applied everywhere. The Guillotine Valley is also subject to this rule. The Headless Horseman was originally killed by the American Xier, and was manipulated by the American Xier behind the scenes.
The little sister who was driven into the forest by the landlord's old wealth, gave her soul to the devil, slow, Tim Burton must not be a member of the Communist Party of America.
How can class struggle be filmed like this?
The evil director finally arranged for Xi'er to be captured by the devil and enter hell. The spontaneous struggle of the working people ended in failure.
The landlord’s lady and the little love man came to the American metropolis hand in hand and began a happy life.

Sleepy Hollow quotes

  • Samuel Philipse: Five victims in four graves.

  • Ichabod Crane: Doctor Lancaster, Reverend Steenwyck, Notary Hardenbrook, and Magistrates Philipse, who tried to cut and run, and lost his head. Four frightned men, arguing on the very night Magistrate Philipse was killed. There's a conspiracy here. The doctor, the reverend, the notary, and the magistrate. What is the secret that unites them? Magistrate Philipse knew there were five bodies to four graves, knew the widow was pregnant, but would not tell me the name of the father. What does this point to? We must proceed by a process of elimination. I shall make a list of every man and woman in Sleepy Hollow, starting with their chief citizen, Baltus Van Tassel. I feel we're getting very close.

Young Masbath: Yes. I suppose Baltus is the chief citizen, now that old Van Garrett is dead.

Ichabod Crane: Yes. The Van Garretts. I had almost forgotten them.

    Ichabod Crane: Come with me.

Young Masbath: Where are we going?

    Ichabod Crane: To Notary Hardenbrook's.

Young Masbath: Have you thought of something?

    Ichabod Crane: Yes. I have.
