you're my sunshine

The first time I saw the Coen Brothers' work, when I heard the name, I thought it was an American Hollywood-style classic action movie. I downloaded it and put it on my computer. I didn't even think about it when I wanted to watch a movie. I read "The Art of Watching Movies" a few days ago, only to find out that it is a classic movie of the Coen brothers in their early years. I found it and watched it. As soon as the music from the title came out, I couldn't stop it.
I don't want to and don't have enough knowledge to support my overly religious interpretation of the film, selling souls to the devil at the crossroads, baby-faced George, or the cow on the roof. I also heard that this film is a different way of telling the "Odyssey", and the details of various characters in the film can be compared with those in Shakespeare's plays. I only sighed at the optimism and kindness of the little people in the process of treasure hunting all the way, regarded them as the steps and intentions of winning their own victory in the process of the struggle for power, and the ruthless execution of people (Tommy) under the protection of religious halo. The most moving freedom and mind are written on the three men in prison uniforms. Even if the plot is irrational, the party with the upper hand in the political competition is blown away by the performance of the hillbilly band, and the other party can use it to gain the upper hand. Inexplicably won the right to be pardoned. And so on, in the Coen brothers' films, is expressed and performed with a natural exaggeration of comedy.

The soundtrack is great.

Even though I'm a country music fan, I still don't know why. Some points are still very funny. For example, thinking that your companion has become a frog, you can take it with you and even go to a high-end restaurant together. The natural stupid horse is so cute and cute.

O Brother, Where Art Thou? quotes

  • Ulysses Everett McGill: Pete's cousin turned us in for the bounty.

Pete: The hell you say! Wash is kin!

Washington Hogwallop: Sorry, Pete, I know we're kin, but they got this depression on. I got to do for me and mine.

Pete: I'm gonna kill you, Judas Iscariot Hogwallop!

  • Ulysses Everett McGill: The old tactician has got a plan. For the transportation that is, I don't know how I'm gonna keep my coiffure in order.

Pete: How's this a plan? How we gonna get a car?

Ulysses Everett McGill: Sell that. I figure it can only have painful association for Wash.

Pete: [reading] "To Washington Bartholomew Hogwallop, from his loving Cora. Amor Fidel... is."

Ulysses Everett McGill: It was in his bureau. I figure it'll fetch us enough cash for a good used auto-voiture, and a little left over besides.
