Youth storm, it would be better to deviate slightly from the original work

After reading Clueless, which is adapted from EMMA, I have to say that the first sense is very amazing. Generally speaking, it is a relatively successful adaptation. Moving the scene to Los Angeles, the storm of youth and drunken fans are very immersive. There are many points that can be said. The first is a targeted adaptation of the social background. For example, Chritian is not a secret engagement with someone like Churchill (a strange behavior in Victorian age), but a gay (reflecting modern gender Issue hotspots), such as the successful shaping of Travis, a small character, has a lot more sense of existence than Martin in the original version. His active drug rehabilitation and participation in skateboarding competitions have made his character plump. The movie also includes such as disaster relief. The theme, etc., reflect the characteristics of the times. Undoubtedly, I personally feel that in terms of role positioning, the main female role in clueless is more pleasing than that in EMMA. There is no bitterness but more innocence. There is also an emotional point that Josh is still positioned as a lawyer to be. In fact, it indirectly points to the bleak reality that the upper class in the United States monopolizes elite occupations through education and thus forms the bleak reality of class consolidation. It has to be said that Austen’s novel provides a very useful story template, so that later adaptors can have a good story structure and narrative arrangement without any effort; however, the success and failure are also different in context. In the case of the original version, clueless's too sloppy imitation of the original version makes the story development and the changes in the relationship between the characters appear rigid. For example, the warming of the relationship between Sher and Josh is not as natural as the development between Woodhouse and Knightly in the original version, because the latter one The pair often communicates intellectually together and Knightly often plays the spiritual mentor of Woodhouse, but the epiphany of the previous pair suddenly seems a little stiff.

PS The heroine is really good-looking, it is my favorite model, gentle, cute and lively, a bit carefree but also very good at taking care of others, it is a successful model of affluence~

Clueless quotes

  • Cher: [an attractive male waiter walks past the girls, who check him out] Survey says?

    Tai: Doable.

Dionne: Puny. I like 'em big.

    Cher: Ew I hate muscles!

Tai: You know I don't really mind either way. Just as long as his you-know-what isn't crooked. I really hate that.

  • Dionne: So check it.
