In the nearly two and a half hours of the film, in addition to Chaplin's contribution to film and comedy creation, what I saw as a man, was infatuated with his first love. Chaplin met his 16-year-old first love when he was not famous, but his proposal was rejected. Later, he went to the United States to start a business and became famous. Because he had always been obsessed with his first love, he wanted to look for it when he returned to the United Kingdom, but learned about the other party. Already married, Chaplin readily accepted, but the truth is that his first love died of a flu at the age of 25, and Chaplin, who was told, collapsed silently. In the process of Chaplin's career, he experienced the first, second and third wives, as well as a rumored girlfriend. They are basically actors in his movies, but every relationship starts and ends quickly. It was almost a brushstroke, until he met an actress who looked like his first love, with whom he would spend the rest of his life.
I think Chaplin loves her first love, but misses more of who she was at that time. Life is like a drama, drama is like life!
