go home

At the beginning, my friend advised me not to look down because the ending was so cruel. My friend is kind and can't bear to see the hopeless ending of the rescue after so much effort, but I turned to this old movie for that. In many disaster movies, there are always survivors who live with gratitude to the dead or with unforgettable memories. And in this storm, no one can go home. When Bobby floats helplessly in the huge ocean, it is so small. I can't help but be moved. Naturally, it is ultimately invincible. People are united and sacrificed. These beautiful qualities are of no avail in the storm, but drive and arrogance lead to destruction.
People who are optimistic by nature will always see people caring for each other, but just based on these, should they naturally be meek? These are always exaggerated by people as omnipotent powers, how do you know that man's victory over the sky is just a myth. People are precious because there is love. Love can be unshakeable, but it cannot prevent everything from happening. It can only comfort the souls who have never gone away after the disaster.

I have loved water since I was a child. Whether fighting the sea or exploring the bottom of the sea, it is all aspirational and I like movies related to the ocean.

My dad took me to see it when it was first released in 2000. "I still like the feel of the cinema." I remember his words

The Perfect Storm quotes

  • Bobby Shatford: [in the bridge of the Andrea Gail] So, what are you so happy about?

Captain Billy Tyne: You just caught me on a good night. I'm doing what I was made to do - and I've got a feeling I'm going to do it even better this time.

  • Melissa Brown: [on board the Mistral] This weather fax just came in. Edie, have a look at this.

Edie Bailey: We have got to head in now! Put in at Watch Hill!

Alexander McAnally III: In this stuff, harbor's too dangerous.

    Melissa Brown: Dangerous?

Alexander McAnally III: Dash into shore, cut across shipping lanes...

Edie Bailey: This is a hurricane coming straight at us!

Melissa Brown: Let me reduce sails, Sandy, or even go back home.

Alexander McAnally III: This is my boat. We're gonna ride this thing out, not for fun, for safety. Do what I've always done: go with the flow.
