The sale of the child caused the mother, Bruno's girlfriend, to realize that the current life was not an ideal and suitable state, so she gave up on Bruno and wanted to raise the child independently. Bruno, on the other hand, took on a debt of 5,000 euros because he wanted to return the child. With his wife and son separated, he did not change his mind at all until he was forced to rob. The Dadan brothers have created a character like Bruno in a peaceful and documentary style. He is not a good person in the typical sense. However, under the multi-faceted reflection of his personality, we can see all kinds of human brilliance in him. There will be no critical emotions. Especially after he bravely admitted his responsibility and returned the stolen goods in the police department and surrendered himself to prison, we saw that a child who was neither great nor cowardly began to mature. At the end of the movie, Bruno and his wife cried together in the living room of the prison. We can understand that the two understand and tolerate each other, and it is also a remorse and break for the ignorant life of the past.
The film truly and perfectly shaped the characters and showed his life with strength, but as far as the film itself is concerned, it is not as profound and sharp as "Hidden", nor as calm and elegant as "Broken Flower". However, "Child" is stronger than the first two in terms of reflecting the brilliance of human nature and the pattern of the film, so it is understandable to win the Palme d'Or.
