If you have half a year to live

I suddenly realized that this is the first film I've ever watched starring Depp. This film is so good. Why does it have zero praise on Rotten Tomatoes? Angry is my favorite chapter-style drama, and I'm a little moved after seeing it. A dying person who looks down on everything but also re-examines a lot of things that were ignored before. Richard's anger, release, freedom, randomness, dissociation, and weird humor after being ill, really only people who live transparently and recklessly can have such behavior. Such behavior is, as Claire says, courageous, and as he himself says, indifference. Why are you brave? A person who has lived for most of his life only reacts to the waste and imprisonment of the first half of his life on the day he learns that he is about to die. Helplessness and despair come to his mind in an instant, but he doesn't want to wait for death in a daze, so just fight Well, use the courage of a dying person to tell the god of death not today, there is nothing to be afraid of anyway, why not spend the last time with your heart? Why are people who have lost their future so enthusiastic? What's more, in Richard's view, there is nothing in this world worth investing in enthusiasm. Do everything you want to do, live well and die well, this is the creed of life, live well In this life, don't be afraid of death.

The Professor quotes

  • Richard: Well, maturity is really just another word for how much misery you'd swallow.

  • Claire: The person one loves at first is not the person one loves at last. Love is not an end. It's a process through which one person attempts to know another.

    [pause]

    Claire: That's it.

    Richard: And, in a word?

Claire: In TWO words, deceptively simple.
